Completed Projects

Real time GPS signal acquisition and tracking using Virtex FPGA.  This project is conducted in collaboration with Avionics Engineering Center at Ohio University.  Averaging correlation method and special Walsh based transforms were developed for real-time code aquisition.   Both CA and P code hardware structures in FPGA are investigated.  Hardware and software issues related to GPS signal quality monitoring and precise determination of position are studied.

.Reengineering of Intel 8031 microprocessor based on the original specifications.  This kind of redesign work is useful for building equivalent parts to be replaced in older digital systems.

In neural network applications, designed transformations and classification algorithms are implemented in the reconfigurable architectures based on programmable gate arrays.  Hardware description languages and synthesis tools are used to describe and synthesize the designed architectures.   And an example project is presented at FPGA Realization of Haar Wavelett for Pattern Recognition.
